No Computer

I just wanted everybody to know: I haven’t posted anything in a while because my computer has failed. I will be home from France around April 3rd, and i will get working on my next project as soon as I get home. I have a couple of cool ideas, so stay tuned.

New Competition!

Hey Everyone,

It’s been a while! I’ve taken a little break to just relax and enjoy France lately, but due to a new Blender Guru competition, I am back into it. I haven’t figured out what I am going to create yet, but I will definitely be posting with updates as I go along. Hopefully I’ll be posting soon with what my idea is, but you can’t rush perfection (well, near perfection). Later!

Bedroom Update

Hey Everyone,

I’ve updated my bedroom scene a good amount. I added a headboard and footboard the the bed, a dresser, a clock, and I made the bed look a little less perfect. I am still working on the outside scene, and it is giving me a ton of trouble. Hope you guys like it, and I will post updates as soon as I have some! (Click to enlarge photo).

Bedroom Update

Hey Everyone,

I have been working on mostly just the physics for the bed, so you can’t really see much of a difference, but I’ve added some things to make it more of a scene than just a bed in the middle of space. I am also in the process of creating an outside. It is rendered with Blender internal. Hope you guys like it. Critiques and ideas are always welcome! (Click to enlarge photo).

Bathroom Finished

Hey Everyone,

The last thing I was going to add to the bathroom scene was a few toothbrushes. However, because I am rendering the scene in cycles, I cannot use hair particles. 😦 They are hopefully integrating hair into cycles by the end of 2012, so I have to wait until then. So now I am on to my next project, a bedroom. Just modeling a bedroom isn’t extremely difficult, but I am also going to be adding physics to the scene (specifically the bed). That makes it a whole different ball game, and I am really excited to start playing.

I have a rough bed modeled already, and you can see that below. I will keep you guys updated on my project, and when I am finished, I am going to put out a tutorial on how to properly use the cloth and soft body physics engines to create a realistic bed. Also, I am rendering this in blender internal, so I can get pretty fast results on what the render looks like, instead of waiting for hours to get a nice photo with cycles. Hope you all like it! Bathroom Update 3

Hey Everyone,

Below you will see another update to my bathroom scene. This time I rendered it 1280×720 to see what it looks like full- size. Other than the lighting, I didn’t change much that you can see, but that is the awesome part about it. I actually reduced the poly count to one third of what I had in the last render, and it looks just as good. This was rendered in cycles, 2300 samples, and it took 7.5 hours. Also, the poly count is now just under 4,500. Hope you all like it! (Click to enlarge photo).

Bathroom Update 2

Hey Everyone,

Below you will see another update to my bathroom scene. It is still pretty early in it’s construction, and I will work on lighting and texturing after I model everything. From now on I am also working on making my scenes low-poly so I can begin using the Blender Game Engine efficiently. It is cycles render, 1200 samples, 1h 11m, 15000 polys. Hope you all like it!
