New Header

Hey Everyone,

As you can see, I have a new header! It was done by my friend Jeremy Seigle, and you can check out his other stuff here. Now that he has done my header for me, I can start working on a new project. I’ll keep you guys updated on what that next project will be, and I hope you like the header.

Mug Project Final

Hey Everyone,

Below is the final product of my mug project. I learned a ton working on this picture re-creation, and I would recommend re-creating pictures to anybody who wants to improve their skills. I rendered it in cycles with 4,400 samples. The total render time was 5h 45m. My next project will be creating a new header for the website! Hope you all like it! Questions and critiques are welcome as always. (Click to enlarge photo).

Progress on Mug Project

Hey Everyone,

Below is the progress I have made on my mug project. I decided to see how it looked full-size with 1000 samples, so here it is. Still working out the candy cane texture and the detail on the mug. Other than that I just have to tweak a few things here and there. Critiques and questions are very welcome. Hope you like it! (Click to enlarge photo).

Christmas Contest Winner

Hey Everyone,

Just to let everybody know, the winner of the Blender Guru Christmas competition was Adrian Kubasa, and you can find more of his work here. The quality of all of the entries was amazing, and it was the biggest competition Blender Guru has held yet! If you want to check out all of the entries, and see the other winners, you can go here. Happy Holidays to everybody, and I will have more updates of my mug soon.

Progress on Mug Project

Hey Everyone,

Below is the small progress I’ve made on my mug picture. The photo is kind of small, but I just wanted to get it out there for you guys to see, and with my laptop a full size image would take a very long time to render. Of course it is still a work in progress, but I hope you all enjoy it! (Click to enlarge photo).

New Project

Hey Everyone,

As promised, I have a new work in progress! This one is much smaller scale than my last few due to me only having my laptop, but the quality should be just the same. The picture I’m trying to model is this one. I’m going to try to model it as close to the picture as I can, even the lights in the background. I will also be using cycles to render it. A very early picture of my progress is below. I will be updating with further progress soon! (Click to enlarge photo).

Taking a Break

Hey Everyone,

The reason I haven’t posted in a few days, and will post less often for a while, is because I am in Paris, France. I am traveling as part of my gap year, and will be here for about 4 months. This doesn’t mean I’ll stop blending, but it does mean I will post less often, and my scenes won’t be as complex due to me only having my laptop. If you want to check out my Picture-A-Day blog, here it is. Hope you like it, and I will post with a work in progress as soon as I have one!
